- HOW TO REPORT PROBLEMS (if you have any)
- ---------------------------------------
-
- We welcome trouble reports--if you're having difficulties
- making something work, we want to know about it.
-
- However, by taking the extra few minutes to provide as
- much information as possible, you can allow us to answer
- you more quickly and accurately. So when you report a
- problem, any problem, please try to include as much of the
- following information as possible:
-
- 1. What model Macintosh you have, how much memory,
- and what system version you are running.
- 2. What kind of modem you have.
- 3. How your modem settings are configured.
- 4. Where you are dialing (New York City, Long Island,
- Westchester, a local number).
- 5. If the problem has ever occurred before, or if it's
- the first time you've seen it. If it's occurred before,
- does it happen with any regularity or predictability?
- Does it always happen when you do something specific?
- 6. If it's the first time, have you changed anything about
- your computer or the way you use the software recently?
- 7. Which version of the software you're running (it's 1.25,
- but let us know).
-
- The best place to report problems is the newsgroup
- pipeline.macintosh. To get there, click on the News icon,
- and then double click on "pipeline.macintosh" to see the
- contents of the newsgroup. To post a new message,
- go to the News menu and choose "New post." You may also
- want to scan the newsgroup to see if anyone has asked
- your question before.
-
- Of course, you can also mail staff@pipeline.com, or
- call us at (212) 267-3636.
